COMPETITION TIME

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

COMPETITION TIME! Later this year, Xtra Mile release a triple-header album, featuring exclusive acoustic versions of songs by me, Frank Turner and Jonah Matranga.

They’re looking for a decent title for the album. If your idea gets used, you’ll win a signed copy, a pair of guest list places to the T-T gig of your choice and loads of Xtra Mile goodies. The only rule is ‘XMR’, ‘Xtra Mile’ or ‘Xtra Mile Recordings’ must be in the title - although you could have ‘Xtra Mile Presents…’ before your brilliant idea. Closing date is Sunday 17th August.

Post your ideas on the forum here or email chris@christt.com.

Chris T-T & The Hoodrats have been added to the bill of this terrific Fightstar-headlined rockout two-stage all-dayer. Chris will also play piano for Frank Turner at the same event.

Hoodrats bassist Johny will be playing two festivals in one day, because his Drift Collective will be playing at Green Man in the early afternoon, before he drives back across the Severn to perform with Chris at MiniFest.

Reading, Leeds and the Morning Star

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

If you’re at Reading or Leeds festivals, I’m there playing piano with Frank Turner on the Lock Up stage, so come say hello (or at least wave).

My latest Morning Star column is up here, in case you’re interested. Sending much love to the MS staff after their devastating office fire.

Thank you if you entered the CD naming contest… Xtra Mile’s triple-headed album featuring me, Frank and Jonah is to be called The Xtra Mile High Club. I’m contributing four acoustic versions of tracks from Capital and a 15-minute jazz piano improvisation. Or not.

New Slang hosts a special one-off Reading Festival warm-up with:
Frank Turner (full band) + Fighting With Wire + Chris T-T & The Hoodrats.

For the first and probably only time, Chris will attempt to perform a full band set and then play piano in the Frank Turner band at the same show. Nuts. Kick-arse lineup though - don’t miss this one. McClusky’s is on Riverside Walk by Kingston Bridge.

Xtra Mile’s new shop

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

Xtra Mile Recordings have launched their new ONLINE SHOP. It’s an excellent store and obviously Chris’s two XMR releases ‘Capital’ and his ‘This Gun’ EP are available, along with loads of other XMR goodies.

On Sun 21 Sep Chris will be walking the route of London’s Circle Line tube and he’s invited friends to join him. It’s a 14 mile walk in total. There’s a Facebook event but everyone’s welcome.
