New interview / Johny sings ‘Ankles’

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

Busy… Full band is confirmed for Carter USM’s aftershow at Brixton Jamm. I did a nice interview for Dirty Sexy Music mag, wrote a short bit in The Guardian about the plinth, wrote a Morning Star column about the Mercury Prize and loved Thirty Pounds Of Bone singing ‘Ankles’ at a Brighton gig.

Thank you everyone at Folk Off in Bletchley Park, lovely little festival. Looking forward to Beautiful Days this weekend, if you’re going we’re onstage Sunday 3pm in the Big Top. Nice review in last week’s NME for the plinth set as well, as it goes. Here’s some pootubes:

Broken Family Band

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

October tour dates piling up on the Gigs page. Fuck Oasis, the truly sad news is that The Broken Family Band are calling it a day. I’m supporting them on their October UK tour, which will be some of their last shows, so worth grabbing tickets. We’ll add ticket details during the week.

This week I’m also heading out with Jim Bob to play piano for him on his short Goffam tour, hitting Glasgow, Norwich and Brighton amongst other places. Support is Tim Ten Yen and in Brighton we’re joined by the unspeakably awesome Thirty Pounds Of Bone.
