Chris T-T’s Midnight Campfire episode #84
From Words
posted on April 27th, 2016

Here’s the track listing for Midnight Campfire #84, first broadcast Wed 27 April on Juice 107.2. It has an hour themed on the EU, plus a couple of folkie Prince covers and Ewan MacColl sings this week’s Campfire Songbook entry. I enjoyed making this one but listening back, it seems a bit dry (or I’m not in the mood right now). Anyway, I’ll throw up the TotallyRadio link as soon as it’s ready – and here’s what I played:

Johnny Cash – You’ll Never Walk Alone (Unearthed, American Recordings)
The Be Good Tanyas – When Doves Cry (Hello Love, Warner Bros)
Ellie Ford – How Do You Know (The Other Sun, Hidden Trail)
Billie Marten – Milk & Honey (single, Sony)
Dallahan – Blow The Candle Out (Matter Of Time, self-release)
Ducking Punches – Taking Back The Living Room
(Fizzy Brain, Xtra Mile Recordings)
Jeanne Added – Little Red Corvette (EP #1, Carton Records)
Richard Thompson – Patty Don’t You Put Me Down (Still, Beeswing)
Elin Ivarsson – Norbotten (Elin Ivarsson, Hidden Trail)
Edd Donovan & The Wandering Moles – Bowerbird
(Making Mountains Vol. 1, self-release)
Rozi Plain – Marshes (Friend Of A Friend, Lost Map Records)
* The Nordic Fiddlers Bloc – Djävulspolsken (Deliverance, self-release)
** Ewan MacColl – Dirty Old Town (The Real MacColl, Topic)

A themed hour of songs about the EU…
Kate Tempest – Europe Is Lost
(single, Caroline International)
Martin & Eliza Carthy – Grand Conversation On Napoleon
(The Moral Of The Elephant, Topic)
James Yorkston – The Brussels Rambler (The Year Of The Leopard, Domino)
