Chris T-T’s Midnight Campfire episode #53
From Words

Here’s the playlist for Midnight Campfire episode #53, first broadcast Wed 26 Aug 2015. I’m not sure the mix was right in the first half-hour and felt tired at the start – but then I got more and more into it (music-wise it balances out great); increasingly good new music is showing up now, ahead of the autumn release flurry, so I must be careful to resist playing just endless new things with nothing familiar. Also, have to say Ange Hardy’s album is superb. Anyway, you can stream it online HERE and this is what I played:

Francis Pugh and the Whisky Singers – A Place Back West
(A Place Back West, self-release)
Rita Hosking – Wetika (Frankie & The No-Go Road, self-release)
Eaves – Pylons (single, Heavenly)
Kariina Gretere – Outsider (Amber And Fly, self-release)
Dana Immanuel – Wild Things (Dotted Leaves, self-release)
Joni Mitchell – The Hissing Of Summer Lawns (The Hissing Of Summer Lawns, Elektra)
Peatbog Faeries – Tom In The Front (Blackhouse, self-release)
Urban Folk Quartet – The All But The Hours Set (Off Beaten Tracks, SAE)
Ange Hardy – The Curse Of A Dead Man’s Eye (Esteesee, self-release)
Simon Murphy – I Have A Voice (Let it Be, self-release)
The Incredible String Band – Talking Of The End
(Liquid Acrobat As Regards The Air, Island)
* John Lennon – Working Class Hero (Plastic Ono Band, EMI)

Pearl & The Beard – James (Beast, self-release)
Plastic Jeezus – Man In A Dog Costume (EP 2, self-release)
Stanley Brinks & The Wave Pictures – Delores (Wakefield, Fika)
Townes Van Zandt – Turnstyled, Junkpiled
(Delta Momma Blues, Fat Possum/Domino)
Andrew Jackson Jihad – Angel Of Death (Christmas Island, SideOneDummy)
Betty Soo – The Things She Left Town With (When We’re Gone, self-release)
Uiscedwr – Everywhere (Everywhere, Yukka)
Bert Jansch – Yarrow (Moonshine re-issue, Earth)
Trader Horne – Children Of Oare (Morning Way re-issue, Earth)
Grasscut – Radar (John Metcalfe remix) (single, Lo Recordings)

* this week’s Campfire Songbook entry, suggested by Andy in Worthing – thank you Andy, great pick.
