Buy the new Album 'Capital' from iTunes

Mon 22nd June, 2009

If you’re interested, you can buy tickets for my first ever improvised piano concert. Details on the Facebook page. Also, I’m pleased to announce I’ll rejoin Jim Bob’s ‘Goffam’ tour for five shows in autumn – this time playing piano. I’ve even made the video for Jim’s new single ‘Our Heroes’ from footage of the first run, which you can see soon. I have a new Morning Star column online now and here’s a nice vid of me playing ‘Ankles’ and feeling sad in southern California earlier this year:

Thankyou if you were at Lexapalooza or Bramfield Festivals, lovely crowds. Busy week.

blotterfaceI’ve just rejiggled Myspace adding two new songs. Open & Shut will probably open the next album and Acid Piano Improvisation #8 does what it says on the tin – should be released on something soon.

I’m also doing my first ever improvised piano set, on Tue 21 July at The Wilmington in London. The evening also sees MJ Hibbett debuting his new Edinburgh Fringe show ‘Dinosaur Planet’. Buy tickets HERE and see Gigs for details.

By the way, here’s my face on some perforated blotter.

Sun 7th June, 2009

Great news, my back catalogue of albums released by Snowstorm Records through the early 2000s (London Is Sinking, 9 Red Songs, The 253 and Panic Attack At Sainsbury’s) has popped up on iTunes UK, so you can buy them as downloads. Go spend and I’ll sit here hoping they hit Spotify too.

4291_111069025020_550615020_3120145_385138_nThis year’s summer festivals are upon us. My first UK festival gig is Friday 5th June, 9.30pm at Glastonwick in Sussex, where somewhat dangerously they’re offering 65 different cask ales from independent breweries. Also in June I’m doing Lexapalooza (first Hoodrats gig of 2009) and Bramfield.

Check the Gigs page for up-to-date listings.

Can’t wait. I’ve also handed in the LSD ep to my manager and Xtra Mile, so I’m just waiting to see if they think it’s sane enough to release and if any promoters are prepared to book a live show for it. Will get into recording the next ‘proper’ album during summer.

Back on the blog and column… and more soon.

Fri 22nd May, 2009

I’ve just spotted my old albums, even Panic Attack At Sainsbury’s, are being sold as legal downloads at 7Digital. Loads of good T-T songs that have been unavailable in the UK since Pinnacle bit the dust. Nice.

Fri 8th May, 2009

untitled-1I’m spending tonight (Fri) at Cambridge Portland Arms to raise cash for Ciarafest (local neo-natal intensive care charity). Then tomorrow (Sat) at Tunbridge Wells Forum as guest for Tom Williams & The Boat’s single launch (I played piano on it). Both solo sets, both more cheerful than recent gigs, I promise. Come down.

Thanks Steve Macallister for this photo at Trafalgar Square and thank-you for your lovely emails and/or for signing up.

Wed 29th April, 2009

I’m doing a short set (between two speakers) on the stage at Trafalgar Square, this coming bank holiday Monday, for the big Mayday gathering. I’ll be onstage at 2pm and obviously it’s free.

Sat 18th April, 2009

goffam_sleeveThe new album by Jim Bob (Carter USM) is out now, it’s called Goffam and I played on it, with Johny Lamb from The Hoodrats. Buy it from the Carter USM shop. Jim is on a UK tour right now and I’ll be special guesting with a solo set at the York gig on April 25th (check the Gigs page).

Tue 14th April, 2009

I’ve booked a small bunch of UK solo shows, in the next few weeks, to try out new songs. So far I’m coming to Norwich, York, Cambridge, Brighton and Tunbridge Wells – they’re up on the Gigs page now. I know these are short notice but come if you can, my new stuff is well worth checking out.
