btw, when we were all first grieving Prince I had ‘The Cross’ whizzing round my brain, so I ended up taping it – listen/download via Soundcloud – but please note; it’s not rehearsed or remotely pro; I literally just sang into my phone in one go from long-term memory and kept the first take, so please don’t judge! Anyway, it’ll vanish soon. 🙂

First, I’m National Trust ‘Creative Fellow’ at The Workhouse, Southwell (in Notts). I’m in residence through summer, working with local history researchers and artists to compose some new ballads. Further ahead I’m very chuffed that Edinburgh’s brilliant Withered Hand is having me play a set at his annual Edinburgh Fringe bash, on 27th August at Summerhall. Then my Autumn EU tour is coming together, with confirmed shows in Paris, Berlin, Vienna and others.

And in November…
Carter USM legend and my long-time comrade JIM BOB is taking a break from his new life as a best-selling novelist and going back on the road, for the first time in almost five years. These tickets are FLYING, some shows already full and many will sell out in the next week, even though they’re not til December. Check his full gig list and ticket details.

btw if you enjoyed the duo CD I made last year with Gill Sandell, don’t miss Gill’s beautiful new solo album Song Of Our Years, out next week. Gill’s also on tour and launches her album in London on 18 May.
