Here’s the playlist for Midnight Campfire episode #58, first broadcast Wed 30 Sep, 2015 on Juice 107.2. It’s a dark, modernist show – not as much trad as usual. I liked it a lot – you can listen online and here’s what I played… read more

Here’s the playlist for Chris T-T’s Midnight Campfire episode #57, first broadcast Wed 23 Sep on Juice 107.2. I’ll put the audio link up as soon as it’s ready. It’s a great first hour and then a bonkers wig-out second hour. One of the most epic shows I’ve done. Here’s what I played… read more

Here’s the playlist for Chris T-T’s Midnight Campfire episode #56, first broadcast Wed 16 Sep 2015. A chaotic show for me – flew more spontaneous than usual and loved it, especially the first hour. The new Louis Barabbas single is a joy and I had a magic moment playing Loudon’s Motel Blues after O’Hooley & Tidow’s ace Elliott Smith cover – only as it was playing I spotted their album also has a Loudon song. Swear I hadn’t noticed til a minute in. Anyway, as usual I’ll throw up the ‘listen online’ link when it’s ready but for now, here’s what I played… read more

Here’s the playlist for Midnight Campfire episode #55, first broadcast Wed 9 Sep 2015 on Juice 107.2. Back to normal after last week’s excitement. You can listen to the show here and here’s the track listing… read more

Here’s the tracklisting for Chris T-T’s Midnight Campfire episode #54 first broadcast on Wed 2 Sep, 2015. The second hour is my interview with folk singer, theatre composer, songwriter and Bellowhead bandleader Jon Boden (who also supplies this week’s Campfire Songbook entry). I love this conversation – it’s wide ranging and in-depth. Jon is a great thinker on music as well as a peerless performer. Weirdly, for the radio I had to mix it ‘live’ because I outputted the files in the wrong format, so I ran it all directly off the laptop. But that’s cool, it sounds fine I think. The music in the first hour kicks arse. Anyway, listen to the show HERE and this week I’ll also publish an extended ‘full cut’ of the interview on my podcast. Here’s the tracklisting: read more

Here’s the playlist for Midnight Campfire episode #53, first broadcast Wed 26 Aug 2015. I’m not sure the mix was right in the first half-hour and felt tired at the start – but then I got more and more into it (music-wise it balances out great); increasingly good new music is showing up now, ahead of the autumn release flurry, so I must be careful to resist playing just endless new things with nothing familiar. Also, have to say Ange Hardy’s album is superb. Anyway, you can stream it online HERE and this is what I played: read more

Here’s the playlist for Midnight Campfire episode #52, first broadcast Wed 19 Aug 2015 on Brighton’s Juice 107.2. It was a simple show (no theme or anything) but I really enjoyed it. Listen to the show HERE and here’s what I played… read more

Here’s the playlist for Chris T-T’s Midnight Campfire episode #51, first broadcast Wed 12 Aug 2015. Man, I love this show: gems in the first hour, a Campfire Songbook entry from Joan Baez and then a themed second hour of mind-bending music from the end of the world. I had to do a lot of work with the swear-knob for FM radio, to play out the Sun Ra masterpiece but the online link is uncensored (we don’t worry about Offcom on the Interwebs). Anyway, LISTEN TO THE SHOW and here’s what I played… read more

Here’s the playlist and listen online link for Midnight Campfire episode #50, first broadcast Wed 5 Aug 2015. I was excited for this show and enjoyed it but listening back, something’s a bit off – all beautiful music, just maybe I could’ve ordered the songs better. Anyway, it’s still a very fun time… Bob Dylan’s A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall is the Campfire Songbook entry; there’s magic new music from Trevor & Hannah, Stick In The Wheel, Luke Sital-Singh and others; plus a gorgeous three-in-a-row of instrumental tracks in the second half from Alvin Youngblood Hart, John Parish and Anoushka Shankar. You can listen online HERE and here’s what I played… read more
