“Wait, you WATCH people play COMPUTER GAMES!?”

I’ve become badly obsessed with Twitch. It is replacing the vast bulk of my TV viewing right now and I’ve been thinking about it almost constantly – partly with an objective analytical head, attempting to place it in context with the rest of our artistic output and partly just, well, trying to figure out how it’s captured me. On Saturday night I did a (pretty rare I suppose) DJ set, to close Grace Petrie’s album launch at The Good Ship in Kilburn. The gig was fierce. Grace on phenomenal form, a rammed crowd throwing every chorus back loud. Also Grace’s lowkey trio lineup is terrific; broadens her sound, varies her arrangements without losing focus. Great stuff.

Episode #39 of Chris T-T’s Midnight Campfire is different: Thur 14 May, TotallyRadio set up a pop-up station at Presuming Ed’s Coffeeshop on London Rd, Brighton, for Great Escape Festival. DJs, promoters and labels took slots all weekend. I took Thursday morning for one-hour show, playing highlights and favourites rather than new stuff, with a few extras thrown in. You can listen to the show HERE and the tracklisting is below… read more

Here’s the playlist for episode #38 of Chris T-T’s Midnight Campfire, first broadcast on Wed 20 May, 2015. It’s a doozy of a show, really proud of the mix – and I closed it with Lau’s extraordinary 17 minute track ‘The Bell That Never Rang’. You can LISTEN ONLINE HERE and here are the tracks…  read more
